Our Legacy
Whistler Wings is the new name of Fort Langley Air (FLA), a company with years and years of experience and history.
Being one of the first Float Plane tour, charter and training operations in BC, Fort Langley Air cemented its place in history and in the hearts of its customers.
Just east of the charming village of Fort Langley, nestled under the gaze of the Golden Ears mountains, our story began over half a century ago on the banks of the mighty Fraser River. Since the 1960s, more than 3,000 pilots have launched their careers from this very spot, taking off on floats to explore the vast British Columbia coast.
The modest airport may be tucked away, but it's a hub of aviation history. Originally part of Skyway Air Services Ltd., the seaplane training here has been a cornerstone of Canadian aviation, producing skilled pilots who now fly commercially all over the world.
Now Whistler Wings Aviation is proud to carry on Fort Langley Air's legacy and spirit. We will proudly continue to serve the community and show off the beautiful province we live in.
As Fort Langley Air, we were proud to facilitate the best floatplane pilot training in North America, and we were the experienced pilot’s preference for training in the Pacific Northwest. Our year-round training grounds present some of the most challenging seaplane and amphibious conditions globally—mountains, lakes, oceans, rivers, coastal harbours, canyons, and variable winds.
For training we offered
- Seaplane Ratings (7 hours or 15 hours)
- 50 Hour advanced Seaplane courses
- Bush Pilot Certification
- Pilot U-Fly Seaplane Packages
The team comprised of seasoned bush pilots and coastal experts dedicated to helping you achieve your goal of becoming floatplane-certified. You would train on our well-maintained Cessna 180s, gaining hands-on experience that prepares you for any environment.
